Halloween Cards

These are a couple more Halloween cards I made. They are copied ideas and I don't feel right using copied ideas for challenges, but thought I could still share them. They are from the Silhouette store.

This isn't a copied idea, but I am getting it posted too late for Halloween challenges.

Halloween 1

Now that school is going full force, it is hard to take the time and make the effort to make cards. Last weekend, we (husband and myself) took some time to make some Halloween cards. It has taken another week for me to get them posted. I tried to fancy fold type cards. The first one, I used the spider from the cartridge Doodlecharms. The patterned paper is from a paper pack from Cloud 9. I added some orange gems that I had for quite awhile and some black and orange baker's twine.

Para Card

With school meetings starting this week and meetings all next week, I needed to get going and make a welcome back card for my paraprofessionals. The worm is from Create A Critter cartridge and the stack of books is from Autumn Celebrations cartridge. I used the hide contour feature on my gypsy to hide the worm's face, and then stamped a face with a Peachy Keen stamp. I tied some baker's twine and made a little bow. The sentiment stamp is from Jaded Blossom. I popped the worm up on foam squares to make him stand out more.

Hoppy Day

When I went to my mom's for the afternoon, I didn't have any cards planned, just knew I wanted to make a frog card. I used the frog from the cartridge Once Upon A Princess. The frog is embossed with a Cuttlebug folder, and the blue mat (water) is embossed with a Tim Holtz folder. I added google eyes and a wobble to the frog. Some baker's twine at the top finished the card.

Yellow Thank You

This card is just like my last card, but made in the yellow family, instead of red. I may end up making this card in a variety of colors. The cut is from the cartridge Phrases. I welded two of the shadows for thank you together to make the card. I then cut out the top layers to put on the card. The patterned paper is some that my mom had sitting around.

Another School Card

I decided to go ahead and make another school related card. The bird is from 3 Birds on Parade cartridge. To make the partial shape cards, I use my gypsy to weld the chosen shape to a rectangle. I make sure the size of the card when finished will still be A2. I added baker's twine and a google eye for some added interest.

Apple/School Card

With school approaching quickly and many challenges wanting school related cards, it was time to grudgingly start thinking about school. I decided I would give each teacher of one of my special ed students a card at the beginning of the year. Since I have many students, it needed to be a fairly simple card. I made a partial shaper card using my gypsy. The apple shape is from the cartridge Plantin Schoolbook. I welded the apple to the card base to get the fun partial shape card. The fun face on the apple is a Peachy Keen Stamp. I added a mat and ribbon to the inside of the card for some extra interest.

Flip Flops

Here is a simple card celebrating the shoes of summer. I used the cartridge Life is a Beach for the flip flops. I added gems from Recollections and Stickles the the flip flop straps. I embossed the Kraft paper with a Cuttlebug folder, so that the dots on the paper would match the dots on my ribbon. The ribbon is from American Crafts. I put Action Wobbles under each flip flop so they would move. Unfortunately I haven't bought any stamp sets with fun summer sayings on them, but do have my eye on several.

S Card

This is a card type I have been wanting to try to make for awhile. It is very easy if you use the Artiste cartridge. It cuts the card out for you. I also got the flower cuts from the same cartridge. I am dog sitting for my mom right now and she told me I could use her paper and supplies while at her house, so I found some double sided paper from K & Company in her stash. I couldn't resist and might have to raid some more of the paper tomorrow. A shout out to my aunt, who my mom is staying with. I popped up the flower cuts with foam squares and added some gems from Stampin Up to the center. I added baker's twine to the inside mat of the card. I like how the S card style turned out and plan to make more.

Stocking Shape Card

I have made more Christmas cards in the last month than I usually make in December. I got the stocking image from the Simply Charmed cartridge. I welded two stockings together to make it a shape card. I then added Stickles to the white parts, added google eyes for fun and Crystal Effects on the cheeks to give them a little shimmer (the camera wasn't able to pick it up very well).

For the vet

I made this card in appreciation for one of our favorite vets. With the amount of fuzzy children we have, we have several vet numbers saved in our contacts. Recently one of our dogs, who is 14 years old started acting lethargic and not eating much. With fear in our hearts, worried we would hear the worst, we brought her to the vet. Turns out she had an infection and is now much better. But are favorite vet did a wonderful job with her and has always been supportive and wonderful, so I decided to make a card for him in appreciation of the wonderful service he has given us over the years. I used Nate's ABCs cartridge for the image. I have had this cartridge over a year and this is the first time I used it. I embossed the mat with a Darice embossing folder(one that my mom got me because she knows my babies are number 1 to me). I used foam squares to pop up the image and make it stand out. I added a couple buttons for interest.

Fun Beach Fish Card

It has been quite awhile since I made a trifold card and when my mom suggested it, I went for it. All the images are from Create A Critter. The base is three rectangles welded together on my gypsy. I then welded my other shapes to each fold of the card. I attached an Action Wobble to the seahorse to give it some movement. Added a google eye to the sea horse for extra fun. The sentiments are from Pink By Design and Pink Scrapper. Most of the card stock is AC Cardstock.

Sparkly Butterfly

With summer here, it is a good time to make butterfly cards. I used the Create A Critter cartridge. I used the hide contour feature on my gypsy, so I was able to stamp a cute Peachy Keen face on the butterfly. I used the photo inspiration from Peachy Keen Challenge Blog to determine the colors of the card. I embossed the mat with a Sizzix folder. I added Stampin Up gems to the corners of the card and light blue gems from Recollections to the antennas. To add some extra sparkle, I used Stickles on the wings. The sentiment is from Pink Scrapper.
